175 Years of Unwavering Commitment
This annual report, the last in our triology, commemorates the hospital's 175th anniversary and honors the unwavering commitment of those who have brought the hospital to this incredible milestone. The history of this institution has been a remarkable story of challenge and progress, of responding to basic human needs and breaking new ground in the understanding and application of science, knowledge and technology. At the hospital's centenary dinner in 1926, Dr. Rufus Cole, an invited guest from the Rockefeller Institute, said, "In the words of an old writer - Prosperity to the Hospital and Health and Ease to Its Poor Patients." This has been and will continue to be our challenge.
